Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

This Parent & Student Handbook provides you with valuable information about our District.  It also contains your rights and responsibilities as parents, information about school safety, state-required tests, and much more.

There are several documents that must be signed and returned to your school secretary. These forms may be found on the district’s web site in the quick reference section “Back to School Packet 2015-2016” or “Back to School Packet 15-16 Signature Pages Only”.  If you have any questions, please talk to your children’s school secretary.

Our district will emphasize two critical goals this year. First, we believe that all parents must be involved in their child’s education. Second, we understand that your child’s academic success is dependent upon excellent attendance. Our Board, administrators, teachers and staff members are committed to these goals.

As a parent, you have great influence on your children.  We encourage you to talk to them about school; setting and achieving goals; and provideing a time and place for them to read 30 minutes each night. We invite you to volunteer at the school, attend school events and contact the school if you have any questions.

Attendance is vitally importantAbsences cost your child learning opportunities.  Please work with your school to keep your children in school every day. Our goal is that every child attends school 97% of the time. Therefore, the goal is to reduce absences to to six days or less during the entire school year.

Thank you for entrusting us with the responsibility of teaching your child.  We all look forward to working with you and your children this year.
