NOTE FROM SUPERINTENDENT BENO

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

This Parent & Student Handbook provides you with valuable information about our District.  It also contains your rights and responsibilities as parents, information about school safety, state-required tests, and much more.

There are several documents that must be signed and returned to your school secretary. These forms may be found on the district’s website www.riverdelta.org in the quick reference section “Back to School Packet 2016-2017” or “Back to School Packet 16-17 Signature Pages Only”.  If you have any questions, please talk to your children’s school secretary.

As a parent, you have the greatest influence on your children.  We encourage you to do the following three things to insure your child’s success:

1. Ask them daily about school and what they learned.

2. Provide a time and place for them to do their school work and have them read at least 20 minutes each night.  If

they are too young to read, please read to them for 20 minutes each night.

3. We invite you to volunteer at the school, attend school events and contact the school if you have any questions.

Attendance is vitally importantAbsences cost your child learning opportunities.  Please work with your school to keep your children in school every day. Our goal is that every child attends school 97% of the time. Therefore, the goal is to reduce absences to six days or less during the entire school year.

Thank you for entrusting us with the responsibility of teaching your child.  We look forward to working with you and your children this year.

Sincerely,

Don Beno

Superintendent
